Indie ensemble drama Multiple Sarcasms, which stars Timothy Hutton, Mira Sorvino, Dana Delany, Mario Van Peebles and Stockard Channing, has set its theatrical release for New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle in March.
Multiple Sarcasms will expand into additional markets in April and May via Multiple Avenue Releasing. Brooks Branch wrote, directed and produced the film.
Multiple Sarcasms also stars Laila Robins and India Ennenga, and is set in New York City in 1979 and follows Hutton’s character, Gabriel Richmond, a man in his late 40’s, who is a successful architect. He begins questioning his life choices, which ultimately turns into an art form, as he goes from architect to playwright, examining his own life. This is a quirky relationship drama.

Jeremy Piven and Kate Walsh have signed on for the film WASKA.  They will be joining the cast a includes: Mira Sorvino, Thomas Dekker, Lynn Collins, Elizabeth McGovern and Joseph Morgan.  The story follows a father’s loss of his son during the first snowfall of the year, referred to as Waska.

Miro Sorvino has been shopping, but it’s not what you think. While runways in Milan and Paris have been showing the relevant styles for next spring, the actress has been touting fashion with an entirely different sort of relevance: helping women get jobs.
Ms. Sorvino, who is both a United Nations Goodwill ambassador and an ambassador for Amnesty International’s ‘Stop Violence Against Women’ program, spent part of this week in New York asking working women to donate suits to women who are trying to escape domestic abuse – part of a campaign being called ‘Tell A Gal P.A.L.’
“The suits work in both a practical real way and a symbolic way,” Ms. Sorvino told me this week. “They give women a way to present themselves in a professional way.”
That is, actually, largely true of clothing in general – and it’s the reason that hundreds of us are wearing our heels down looking at the latest designer collections this month. But it’s particularly true for women who need financial stability in order to escape abusive relationships. The numbers are staggering. One-out-of-four women are estimated to be victims of domestic abuse at some time in their life. Looking well put-together is an important part of getting away and landing a good job.

Mira Sorvino suffered for weeks with life-threatening complications before giving birth on June 22, her rep announced today.
“He is my miracle baby,” Sorvino, 41, says of her baby boy, Holden Paul Terry. “With everything that threatened this pregnancy and both of our lives, he came out of it completely unscathed.”
The Oscar-winner was hospitalized for almost two months after developing placenta previa—a condition that can require bed rest and hospitalization—along with a blood clot…
The child, Sorvino’s third with hubby Christopher Backus, arrived two weeks early and weighed in at 8 lbs., 12 oz. He joins 3-year-old Johnny Christopher King and 4-year-old Mattea Angel.
“It is fantastic for us to be reunited and bring our bundle of joy home for Mattea and Johnny to adore,” Sorvino said. “It’s is also wonderful to be able to tell the kids that Mommy is not sick anymore and that I am not going back to the hospital.”
